Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) targets a lot of symptoms experienced when feeling depressed. Sometimes medication can complement the therapy process as well. There are important considerations to explore that will be helpful in deciding the best treatment for you including age, history, other diagnoses that may be present, the severity of your symptoms etc. I suggest that you reach out to a therapist with expertise working with depression to give you more guidance about what would best serve your needs.
A communication off CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT ( Dialectic Behavioral therapy)
and REBT ( Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy).

REBT to Challenge irrational thoughts, understand the core beliefs driving the thoughts, emotions and behaviors,

CBT to teach coping strategies, regulate emotions, work on communication and Relationship skills, etc.

DBT to control any unhealthy impulses, sib, or self harm associated with the depression, if any.
Hi, Thank you for your question. There are many different therapies that are effective for depression, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Depression reduction techniques include deep diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, grounding exercises, mindfulness meditation, practicing positive mantras or positive self-talk, guided imagery and visualization, and journaling or stream of consciousness writing. I would recommend you seek services from a mental health professional to help with panic attacks. I hope this has been helpful! Best, *Jenna Torres, PsyD* LifeStance Health
Great question. There are a lot of great therapies designed to help address the difficulties associated with depression. A huge part though is what works for you, a bit of trial and error and personal preference. Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are two great places to start.
The best combination for the treatment of depression is a combination of cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, and interpersonal therapy. Cognitive Therapy: Cognitive therapy focuses on identifying these patterns of negative thoughts, and replacing them with positive ones that contribute to the improvement of your mood. Cognitive therapy is short-term and goal-oriented. It is structured with a specific plan. Behavioral Therapy: Behavioral Therapy is centered on changing the behaviors which affect emotions. The central focus is on behavioral activation. It focuses on helping patients to engage in several activities which enhances their feeling and contribute to their well-being.
Interpersonal Therapy: Interpersonal conflict coupled with a lack of support system can lead to low mood and depression. This therapy focuses on the root cause of the issues addressing the past, present, and social roles and interpersonal interactions. To begin with, the therapist might choose one or two problem areas to focus on.
