Ear-Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT) Questions Ear-Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT)

Why do I have trouble talking?

I have trouble talking, sometimes I can barely eek out a sound, and other times it is almost normal. I have mucus from my nose to the back of my throat. I think my vocal cords may be coated with mucus, my lungs are clear. A week ago I visited with a friend. My voice was about 85% normal. Later I could barely talk.

Theres a few possibilities for whats going on. I would need you to answer some questions in order to narrow any possibilities down. Are you or have you ever been a smoker? Vape? Other forms of inhalation including otcs? Do you notice if it happens when youre around certain people or places that may have pet dander or other allergens? When this issue occurs, do you feel any pain, swelling, ect?.
I highly suggest seeing a Otolaryngologist. There could be various structures in your sinuses, face, and upper airway that can be causing this. Also, sometimes acid reflux can do this as well.

YOU NEED AN OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGIST EVALUATION.
Best to see a laryngologist. Symptoms may be compatible with presbylaryngeal changes or spasmodic dysphonia.
