Stomach issues after ibuprofen?

My primary Dr loaded me up on ibuprofen for a sore muscle issue for 5 days. The following week they put me on the steroid Prednisone. It only took 3 days and I developed awful indigestion in my chest. They gave me Omeprazole and that helped clear out most indigestion but caused nausea I can't get rid of. I constantly feel an upset stomach. My appetite is completely gone because of nausea. Nausea does ease up every time I burp. Everything seems to be upper gastro. No major issues in the lower belly. I have no bloating or sharp pains or burning sensations. Just had an upset stomach for the past 2 1/2 weeks. I hate to just keep trying different meds. I feel like that's how I got into this issue. Any suggestions?

Try ginger tea.
If you want to find relief without medication, changing your diet can often alleviate and prevent upset stomach. Avoid spicy foods, citrus, greasy foods and try eating bland chicken, rice, or soups until your stomach has had time to rest. Hope you feel better !

Sounds like it might be stomach hypersensitivity, also called dyspepsia. Burping tends to help because releasing air relaxes the stomach by reducing stretching from an upper air bubble. After a thorough history and physical, if I made this diagnosis then I would treat it with special medications called neuromodulators, which are also very effective for nausea. If the symptoms stay persistent then can try to seek out a GI doctor for help. 99% of GIs will want to do an EGD though, given the symptoms that you describe.
