Neurologist (Pediatric) Questions Migraine

Are migraines in children serious?

My son's been complaining about migraines for the past few weeks. I treat it like I would treat one of my own, but I don't think children should be having migraines... especially at 10 years old. Could migraines mean something serious in kids?

Migraines do occur in children, particularly if there is a family history of migraines. He should, however be evaluated by your primary care physician or a pediatric neurologist. Until then treating with an over the counter pain medication (such as excedrine) would be appropriate.
