These procedures are usually performed under a general anesthesia including a breathing tube, where we do take over your breathing for the procedure. You're anesthesiologist will evaluate your breathing status and discuss your risks and other possible avenues for sedation if possible. This is very common. Likely, a pre-anesthesia provider will call you for history and obtain records from a cardiologist and/or pulmonologist (heart/lung Dr) for extra information 1-2 weeks before your procedure.
