Surgeons often repair Injured fingers. Avulsion or tearing injuries are more difficult and a lot depends on the quality of the injury. status of the blood vessels and the other tissues. The mechanism of injury is very important as the level of injury and the health of the patient and deciding whether or not reattachment is appropriate
Yes this is sometimes possible provided that it was a clean cut and not an avulsion injury. In the latter case, the blood vessels are injured and replantation in the case is not usually successful.
This depends upon the extent of injury to the finge, the mechanism of injury in addition to many other factors. Relatively clean amputed fingers can be replanted (reattached) if done in a timely manner - usually within 24 hours at most. These are medical emergencies and have to treated expeditiously by a fellowship-trained hand surgeon.
Sorry to hear that! Yes, of course. We take care of power tool and table saw injuries all the time. Make a visit to your local hand surgeon!
