Radiologist Questions Pregnancy

Can I have an x-ray if I am pregnant?

I'm 25 years old, and I'm also in my second trimester of pregnancy. I think I might have broke my toe when I fell down the stairs (I didn't fall on top of my belly), and I think I might need to go to the ER since it's been a day and I can barely walk with it. Can I have an x-ray if I'm pregnant? Will it hurt my baby?

X-ray of the toes is safe for the baby during pregnancy. They will likely shield your abdomen. The radiation dose is very low for X-ray of the toes and the beam is distant from your pregnancy.
Yes, but shield the baby. They should know to do that.
