Can you have a heart attack without knowing it?

I am a 51 year old female. I wonder if you can have a heart attack without knowing it?

Yes you can have a heart attack without symptoms especially if you are a diabetic since the nerve endings are not working properly. If you feel weak, short winded or dizzy you should consult your physician immediately.
Yes
A heart attack can manifest in several ways. Although chest pain or discomfort sometimes with radiation to the arm or jaw, many patients may never know they have had a heart attack. This is most common in diabetes which affects the nerves of the heart as elsewhere in the body so pain is usually not as pronounced. In diabetics, nausea, vomiting, and profuse episode of sweating can be the only signs of a heart attack. In non-diabetics, a sensation of heartburn or indigestion can occur.
Yes: 30% of infarcts occur without classical symptoms
It is possible to have a very small heart attack and not know it, but is not that common. Most heart attacks come with symptoms which sometimes individuals ignore. Occasionally, an individual can collapse and die with a heart attack. This is the worst case scenario.
Yes. Especially if the patient is diabetic, the patient does not feel the chest pain as described in the book. The patient may feel like he or she has flu-like symptoms.when the patient has EKG a few months later for some reason, it may show that the patient had a heart attack,That's why I recommend EKG done at least once a year. Sometimes, patients may feel indigestion-like symptoms.
