Abdominal Surgeon Questions Appendicitis

Do I have appendicitis?

I am in a lot of pain in my right lower stomach and it hurts a lot. I can barely pass gas and I lost my appetite. I swallowed a whole piece of candy and that might have blocked the appendix. But I don’t have a fever, nausea, and the pain completely goes away after I take Ibuprofen. Any help?

Swallowed candy usually won’t cause appendicitis so please see a doctor if your pain persists.
Candy or anything else that you swallow will not block the appendix. I cannot tell what your pain is from. You need to be examined by a doctor, especially if this is an ongoing problem. You can see a pediatrician and your parents can help get an appointment.
No, you don’t have an appendicitis. The piece of candy will have melted away long before it gets to the appendix. Appendicitis is not a chronic condition. If you have appendicitis, it progresses until it ruptures. If that happens, your symptoms would be so bad you would know you needed to go the hospital.

You need an immediate evaluation by your Doctor to evaluate for causes of such pain with urine, blood test, and imaging.
