Do I see a cardiothoracic surgeon for congestive heart failure?

I am a 63 year old male who was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Do I see a cardiothoracic surgeon or someone else?

If you are diagnosed with congestive heart failure, you should see a cardiologist not a cardio thoracic surgeon. The treatment of heart failure is mostly medical and the cardiologists are expert in that field.
You should see a cardiologist that specializes in heart failure. A small portion of patients require referral to a cardiac surgeon for advanced therapy such as ventricular assist device or heart transplant.
Most cardiologists can handle congestive heart failure. Rarely a sub-specialist is needed which are cardiologists that take 1-2 years additional training.
You need to see a cardiologist.
See an internist or cardiologist
You should see a cardiologist first
No. The specialist you need to see is a Clinical or Non-invasive Cardiologist.
You will see a cardiologist first.
Most heart failure is beat treated with medications, and the first physician you should see about CHF is a cardiologist who treats (or specializes in) heart failure
No. You should see your cardiologist regularly.
If you have congestive heart failure, you should see a cardiologist who specializes in the treatment of congestive heart failure. Depending on what the work-up shows, he/she may refer you to a CT surgeon or stabilize you with medical therapy, etc.
