“Does an x-ray show muscle damage?”
I am a 34 year old male. I want to know if an x-ray shows muscle damage?

X-rays do not show muscle damage. MRI’s are very useful for looking at the muscles, ligaments, and tendons
Conventional xrays often do not unless there is gas producing infection, or severe swelling/edema. Chronic injuries can sometimes calcify and show on conventional xray. MRI is a much more sensitive test for acute muscle injury.
No. Sometimes X-rays can show evidence that a muscle might be injured, but you really need a much more sophisticated imaging study to see muscle damage. The best imaging study is MRI, which shows muscles the best.
