Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Questions Tooth extraction

I have a hard bump in my gums after my tooth extraction. What can I do?

I am a 32 year old woman. I recently got my molar tooth extracted and now I can feel slight bumps on my gums. What can I do to find some relief from this?

Hi, this could be a bony spicule under the gum. It will likely resolve.
See the dentist who performed the surgery to evaluate your situation.
They might be bony irregularities, and if not painful the advice would be to just leave them alone. You could have them smoothed down or removed, but that would require additional surgery.
How long ago did you have your tooth extracted? The bump on your gum, if it is hard, then it is the jaw bone. It can remodeled it by itself with time. If it is painful, then you need to see the oral surgeon to smooth it out (alveoplasty). If the bump is soft, then it is the scar tissue and eventually will go away.
You should go back to the dentist who removed to tooth and make sure there is not a problem with the extraction site.
