Hi there,
The adjustment of the ankle is kind of easy. Most sprains cause a misalignment of one of the 7 bones in your ankle. Over the years, I’ve adjusted many ankles and they respond sometimes miraculously.

There are several ways a chiropractor will adjust the ankle. They can use their hands to push and pull on bones in the ankle, use adjusting instruments to introduce movement into those bones, or use soft tissue mobilization or gentle joint mobilization of the ankle bones. It all depends on the practitioner and the reason for the adjustment. It's a great joint to get adjusted.
There are a variety of ways to adjust an ankle. Various methods would include instrument adjusting using something such as an Activator. Drop table techniques, often using a speeder board and of course regular manual adjustments.
Chiropractors adjust ankles in whichever direction will allow for proper function and proper alignment. This is not always the same direction for everyone.
