Head aches and Migraines are commonly alleviated by the Chiropractic Adjustments, by removing the cause of the head ache, removing nerve root interference. This re-establishes the nerve and blood supply needed for normal brain functioning.
They look to find the cause of the headaches and if needed, make adjustments to the spine to encourage the bodies own healing mechanisms to heal the headaches.
Most headaches originate from suboccipital muscle tension. Chiropractic treatment addresses the cause of the muscular tension at the upper neck and can ease the tension coming from the trapezius muscles as well. Examination should determine the cause of your headaches. If there are no problems in the neck causing the headaches, an MRI of the brain or sinuses should be performed.
I hope this helps.

Take care and be well,

Hello,

This is a good question, headaches are created by tension in muscles or by the nerve impulse being restricted between the base of the head (skull) and the first cervical vertebrae (Atlas) and the 2nd cervical vertebrae (Axis). Releasing the tension between these three with chiropractic care will resolve the problem headaches.
Chiropractors are trained to locate misaligned vertebra in the spine. Many times when the very top bone in the spine, called the atlas, is subluxated it puts pressure on the associated nerve. When pressure is placed on the exiting nerve root of that vertebra a headache can occur.... amongst other symptoms. When the misaligned vertebra is corrected typically the headache dissipates!
In the majority of cases yes
Chiropractors are specialists of the musculoskeletal system, meaning that we specialize in muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints and bones. As such most common headaches stem the base of the skull or even the neck. We treat these areas with the use of adjustments of the neck and muscle work.
Chiropractors help headaches with spinal alignment of the neck, as well as decreasing muscle tension in the head and neck.
