Possible signs that your spine is out of alignment include: chronic headaches, lower back pain, neck pain.
If you have pain in the spinal joints or asymmetric muscle development or general bad posture, chances are you have some spinal alignment issues. An X-ray is the best way to visualize the extent of the misalignments.
Have to go to a qualified Chiropractor
Hi and thanks for your question! It’s a common one. Unfortunately your back can be out of alignment and causing nerve impingement without any symptoms. There are 9 different functions nerves can do and only one is for pain. Nerves that are being affected by subtle misalignments can cause diminished blood flow to organs or other tissues which goes unnoticed for years. The best way to tell if you are out of alignment is to be tested by a chiropractor who practices Applied Kinesiology. They use muscle testing to assess nerve function and misalignment with the most accuracy. There are also computer programs which can detect misalignments that your chiropractor may use.
Most people have no idea if their back is out of alignment. Once you have been adjusting and balanced by a chiropractor you become more aware of your body and you can usually tell when you are out of alignment. But chiropractors can feel your spine and determine where you may need an adjustment.
Posture, X-rays.
A proper chiropractic examination can help determine that. There are many indicators of your spine is out of alignment but some common signs include pain and discomfort.
I don't like the tern "alignment". In my opinion treating the spine is about function. Everybody's spine is different and responds differently. It is important to get appropriate evaluation of your condition and this can be done by a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). Causes can be anomalies from birth, injuries, degeneration and/or postural. The goal is to make the spine work well within its own structural parameters. The exception of this is diagnosis and treatment of Scoliosis in youth and elderly. In the young and during the degeneration of old age it is possible if the diagnosis is early enough to modify, slow down and in a few cases stop or reverse the scoliotic process.
Several different ways. You may have a focal area of pain in or around your spine, you may have muscular tightness On either or both sides of your spine
Pain, stiffness, headaches, or restricted movement are all signs your spine is misaligned.
Actually you may not know. When a patient comes in and I palpate and do orthopedic tests we often find areas of tenderness and tightness that is caused by misalignment. This is why regular care prevents larger problems from escalating over time. People often experience dull, achy, sharp pain, tingling and numbness, headaches, constipation, heart burn etc, which are signs of misalignment.
