Heart transplant is a life saving procedure with very good results. It is a big operation but once you recover you can resume your normal activities. There are no special preparations except for educational materials that your doctor should provide you. If you are a smoker it’s vital for you to quit smoking.
Heart Transplant is much simpler than used to be. Success rate is high. Life after transplant is more comfortable & enjoyable. Please feel optimistic. And best of luck.
Your cardiologist and heart surgeon should help you with this. There are support groups and you should talk to a few patients who have had the procedure.
