Pathologist Questions Hpv

How is HPV diagnosed?

I'm 28 years old, and I want to get tested for HPV because I noticed wart-like bumps on my genitals. What should I do to get tested?

HPV shows in vulva, vagina, cervix, rectum, anus, penis, and scrotum. Also, can be seen in mouth and throat. The way to confirm the diagnosis is when you get genital warts. A biopsy is taken, or the complete wart is excised, then sent to the laboratory to be examined and identified. Thank you.
Go see your gynecologist and discuss your concerns. Usually the way to test for HPV is doing a cervical exam and obtaining a sample of cervical tissue for testing. There are probably others. That is the one I am familiar with. Good luck.
