How long should I rinse my mouth with salt water after tooth extraction?

I am a 28 year old female and I will have a tooth extraction. How long should I rinse my mouth with salt water after tooth extraction?

Salt water is soothing but not necessary for healing. Use it if it makes you feel better.
There's no exact timeline but approximately for 3-6 days without swishing vigorously. Tilt your head side-to-side gently, and only once per day, speak with your oral surgeon about this.
Starting the day after gently for 30 seconds with a mixture of 1 teaspoon salt in 1/2 cup water. Continue 3-7 days. Then occasionally up to 3 weeks until initially healed.
The instructions should be to start rinsing 24 hours after the extraction and it is a good idea to continue for at least 5 days. If the question was really how long the duration of the swish should be, 30 seconds should suffice.

Hope this helps,

There should be no rinsing at all for 24 hours after the tooth extraction. Rinsing really will not give any benefits after that. You can do it if you want but it is not necessary .Rinsing before 24 hours is up will put you at risk for a dry socket.
Just a day or two if you want, but you don’t have to. Don’t swish too hard and wash the blood clot out of the socket
Your doctor should provide post-op instructions. No rinsing on the day of extraction.
A week is a good place to start.
