How many painkillers can you take a day?

I am a 38 year old female. I want to know how many painkillers can I take a day?

Hi, that would depend on what painkillers you are taking. Ironically there is no maximum limit for opiates. However the side effects and danger of taking them is greater with higher doses. There is a maximum recommended limit in taking Tylenol because too much Tylenol over time can cause liver damage. Guidelines are to limit to 3 gm/24 hours of Tylenol. Also maximum 24 dose of Ibuprofen or Motrin is 3200 mg. Using Motrin or NSAIDS chronically over extended time has risk of GI bleeding, renal and liver damage too.
Ideally, none. It depends on the medication. If you are prescribed that medication discuss that with your physician who initially prescribed it.
If you mean tylenol, short term, 4grams per day is the maximum dose. For ibuprofen, 2400mg is the maximum dose, Aleve maxes out at 150mg per day. All these max doses are for short-term use only; the dose should be about half for long-term use.
