Homeopathic Physician Questions Naturopath

How should I use essential oils?

After seeing a naturopath I bought an essential oil kit. How do I use them, Lemon, Peppermint, etc.?

The best way to use essential oils is to diffuse them in a diffuser, they will make your place smell great. Different combinations can be helpful for different things. Some are also topically safe (such as peppermint) if combined with a carrier oil such as coconut oil. However, essential oils should never be ingested. Also make sure your buying high-quality brand oils, as some low-quality brands can have other additives in them making them less effective, or even more harmful. I personally like products from Mountain Rose Herbs.
Do not take orally unless instructed by physician. I recommend 10 drops in water and soak in a tub, or you can add a couple drops of your favorite essential oil to some unscented cream and apply topically.
I don't use them much in my practice. I recommend asking the doctor who recommended them how they would like you to use them. There are many to choose from and all used differently for different conditions. Best of luck.

Directly on your skin (sometimes with a carrier oil), in a diffuser, in bath water. It depends on what you're using it for.
Depends on what you are using it for. Aromatherapy, you just inhale in each nostril. For skin ailments, you apply to skin, then apply a carrier (olive oil) over it to prevent evaporation.

You can buy a diffuser and aromatize any room with them or apply them at the bottom of your feet.
