“I bruise easily”

Hello, many issues ranging from benign to malignant can cause bruising. The causes of bruising can also vary widely from blood and platelet disorders to skin and vascular diseases. If you have a significant personal and/or family history of bleeding issues (e.g., very heavy periods, frequent nose bleeds, bleeding complications from dental procedures or other surgeries), it may be in your best interest to speak to a Hematologist to do more formal evaluation and testing, but I would first recommend that you speak with your Primary Care provider to ensure that you are referred to the correct specialist if needed.
