Yes. The research has finally caught up. Heidi Haavik has been proving the effects of a chiropractic adjustment on the brain in double-blind studies for over 15 years. Go to therealitycheck.com for her research.
Absolutely. Research Dr. Palmer of Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Yes. there is a lot of support for the practice and articles in the journal of medicine. Chiropractic includes many different types of therapy making them a holistic entry way physician.
There are thousands of research studies showing chiropractic is more effective than whatever they tested it against. In other words, more effective then doing nothing, or medicine, or PT or whatever they studied it against. Go to the American Chiropractic Association website. They are a great resource.

Did you know that aspirin was on the market for 75 years before scientists figured out how it works? When you turn on your TV, do you care about if science has proven how the satellite bounces waves to create a picture or do you just care that you just have a good picture? If you have an enlarge heart, do you care that it wasn't proven that cutting your heart smaller would be beneficial? Chiropractic care has withstood over a hundred years of negative criticism and still serves over 30 million Americans yearly. Hundreds of studies have verified spinal manipulation as an effective & safe treatment. Chiropractic has clinically proven it works. I treat animals and get excellent results. Also infants. That indicates it is not a placebo, but a procedure that works.
A growing list of research studies and reviews demonstrate that the services provided by chiropractors are clinically effective, safe and cost effective. Following are excerpts and summaries from a few of those studies. The evidence supports the natural, whole-body, drug-free approach of chiropractic for a variety of conditions.
In a Randomized controlled trial, 183 patients with neck pain were randomly allocated to manual therapy (spinal mobilization), physiotherapy (mainly exercise) or general practitioner care (counseling, education and drugs) in a 52-week study. The clinical outcomes measures showed that manual therapy resulted in faster recovery than physiotherapy and general practitioner care. Moreover, total costs of the manual therapy-treated patients were about one-third of the costs of physiotherapy or general practitioner care.
– Korthals-de Bos et al (2003), British Medical Journal
“Reduced odds of surgery were observed for…those whose first provider was a chiropractor. 42.7% of workers [with back injuries] who first saw a surgeon had surgery, in contrast to only 1.5% of those who saw a chiropractor.”
-Keeney et al (2012), Spine
“Cervical spine manipulation was associated with significant improvement in headache outcomes in trials involving patients with neck pain and/or neck dysfunction and headache.”
-McCrory, Penzlen, Hasselblad, Gray (2001), Duke Evidence Report
Yes it is. There are hundreds of meta analysis, randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and peer reviews supporting Chiropractic as a legitimate form of therapy. There are, however, Chiropractors that may claim to treat diseases which they are not allowed. Beware of any type of 'snake oil' salespeople.
Yes.
Chiropractic has spent much effort on scientifically proving its effectiveness, maybe more than other medical specialties. This is do to it not being consider "main stream." All of healthcare as a science is a work in progress and as with all sciences are continuing to learn about their specialty. The human body and its billions of individuals are all the same in general terms, but each individual is different in many ways. Therefore, treating human beings is also an ART.
