Is excessive rage a mental illness?

I am a 17 year old female with a very short fuse, even with family. Is excessive rage a mental illness?

Great question, it can be. Are you using any drugs, alcohol, or marijuana? Sometimes people have withdrawals from substance that compound the underline issue. If so, try to get help and detox and get evaluated.

Excessive rage can be a sign of mental health issues. Some mental health issues cause anger to flare up. I would suggest that you go be evaluated. However, anger is controllable with anger management.
