Is zinc good for getting pregnant?

I am a 28 year old female and I want to get pregnant. Is zinc good for getting pregnant?

Hi,

I have never seen any evidence that supports the hypothesis that zinc helps someone get pregnant. If it was that easy, I think that zinc would be flying off the shelves.
I hope that this helps.

It is recommended to consume 8 mg per day of zinc. Once you become pregnant, the prenatal vitamin will likely contain more zinc, but the standard recommend daily allowance is sufficient while trying to get pregnant.

Zinc has antioxidant properties. Beyond that there is no additional benefit. Some studies have shown improved sperm motility While others have refuted that claim. Folic acid supplementation when you are trying to conceive on the other hand has beneficial effects on the neural tube development so taking it while you are trying is a good idea.
