My mother is 65 years old and has been diagnosed with triple personality disorder. What is the cause or trigger for her condition? Can it ever be treated?

Yes, it can be treated. You need to find out what is the underlying cause of the problem. Has she had it all her life? Was she born with it? She requires psychiatric care ongoing and it's a good idea for family to be with her to help support her.
