First, you should be flossing your own teeth first. When you get a new toothbrush, the handle may be different. The "feel" of the toothbrush may be different. You may be brushing harder than you realize. You should be brushing gently.
Always use a soft or ultrasoft toothbrush. Brush in a gentle up and down stroke. Replace your toothbrush at the first sign that the bristles are out of position. Dry out your toothbrush by placing it upright in a dry cup. See your licensed dentist to check your gums and determine if you have gum issues. He/she will be able to help you if your gums have problems. You might try Paradontax toothpaste for a week if your dentist says your gums are otherwise healthy. Make sure to include fruit juices or fruit slices that contain Vit. C every morning, such as orange or pineapple or grape juice or slices.
Make sure your physician checks you annually for any underlying diseases.
Are you flossing? The tooth brush only cleans half the tooth. Floss cleans the other half.
The predominant race in your gums hemorrhage with a new toothbrush is the fact that the old one needed to be replaced usually about every 3 months. The second thing is you should also use a soft bristle brush to get maximum stimulation to the crevice of gum just below the neck of all the teeth. This color of tissue is where bacteria, grows to infection which leads to hemorrhage. Also you should be using Mental Floss to stimulate your gums once per day in an effective manner that is to say correctly. Then you will notice fresher breath less bleeding and healthier consistency and color of your gum tissue.
If it keeps bleeding, it means you are irritating your gums. Please ask your dentist/hygienist to educate you on how to brush correctly! If it stops bleeding, it means your toothbrush is hard, so change it to medium or soft! Regardless, please have your dentist check your gums in your next recall appointment!
