Neurologist Questions Parkinson's Disease

not eating. please help, I have questions. thanks

Does Parkensions affect my husband not being able to eat anything for over 2 months? I read everything you put up and we have a good Dr. but he is now in hospital trying to find out why he has lost 40 lbs since Aug has had the.Had scope to stomach and just found it inflamed. Had MRI of head (fine)I am able to get 8-16 oz. of ginger ale down him daily.H puts food in mouth and takes napkin and brings the bite right back out. The minute it goes in mouth, he feels sick to stomach but doesn't bring it up as it doesn't go down at all.
I thank you for any advice you may have. He is weak of course and goes from bed to recliner.

Parkinson Disorders can do this. Swallowing Disorder suggests a possible cranial nerve disorder of the throat as well. Would see your neurologist about possible CIDP and Glossopharyngeal Dystonia as well as an ENT physician. Suspect he needs a barium swallow X-ray to visualize what is going on. Note any associated speech disorder.
Is he having difficulty swallowing? He should see a speech & swallowing expert to check for this-

Beyond this, if his swallowing apparatus is okay- then he is a good candidate for medical marijuana to help stimulate his appetite.
Need to make sure there's nothing serious going on affecting his appetite. If everything else is fine, then probably consider an alternative method of feeding, probably necessary now to ensure he gets enough nutrition.
Sorry about your husband's inability to eat. It is unlikely Parkinson's Disease. It is possible that it is the meds, but unlikely, so I presume the neurologist has changed the meds to rule this out.

Unfortunately, I would be very worried about a non-neurological problem like a disease of the pancreas. I would agree with you that "just inflammation" found on the scoping is also unlikely to lead to 40# weight loss.
