Orthopedic Surgeon (Orthopedist) Questions Hip bone surgery

Can I resume my running after hip bone replacement surgery?

I am going to undergo hip bone replacement surgery in a couple of weeks. Will be able to resume my running after this type of surgery, and if so -- how long until I can run again?

Do you mean hip replacement? Generally, lower impact activities are recommended after hip replacement. Biking, swimming, treadmill would be better than miles of pounding on hard surfaces. Generally, the activities above can be resumed 4-6 weeks after hip replacement.
It is much better to focus on low impact activities, such as swimming, walking on flat, even surfaces, or biking. Avoiding hard impact activity is much better to maintain a long-lasting artificial joint without the need for revision surgery.
