If you can avoid the factor that is making anxious, you need not go to hospital
If you are having any thoughts about hurting yourself or someone else you should go to the hospital. If you have been prescribed medication or have been taught techniques dealing with the anxiety, you should try those approaches. It is also possible for you to have a remote consultation with a mental health professional who may be able to help you. While we certainly want to try to avoid hospital visits especially during the pandemic, if the anxiety persists and you can't function, a visit to the hospital may be necessary.
I think that going to the hospital is counterproductive, instead you need to go to see psychiatrist and this days a lot of practices doing telepsychiatry which is less time consuming and productive. Doctor you will be able to see, will go with you through the medications options and psychotherapy options. The model of the inpatient hospitalizations in the modern psychiatry wouldn't allow enough time to the hospital and in my opinion other than frustrating experience, you wouldn't be able to earn anything else.
It would be best for you to have a psychiatrist evaluate you first. Seeking help first from a hospital would be expensive and probably unnecessary. Anxiety, unless totally debilitating is usually treated on an outpatient basis.
