“Should I be concerned about rectal bleeding after surgery?”
I had a hemorrhoidectomy two days ago, and with my bowel movements there's a slight bit of blood--I believe from my rectum. My surgeon didn't mention this to me. Is rectal bleeding normal after this surgery?

It is normal to have some rectal bleeding after hemorrhoid surgery. However if the bleeding is continuous, there is significant pain, pus, fever, chills, shakes or symptoms that were not discussed, the best option would be to call your physician and go into for postoperative evaluation.
