Decreasing urine output may mean kidney function is worsening to the need for dialysis. However, dehydration is common in people with CKD from poor appetite. If the legs are swollen and urine output drops, call your doctor. If legs are not swollen and urine output drops, try extra 1-2 glasses of water or chicken soup.
She is likely approaching dialysis. She needs to follow up with her nephrologist every 4-6 weeks.
