Will my daughter have to wait for her transplant?

My daughter is in critical care as she waits for her kidney transplant. Because she has an infection, does this mean that she would have to wait for her transplant?

Yes, one cannot be considered for a transplant if they have an active infection.
Most of the time the answer is there likely will be delay until the infection is dealt with
Yes. Infection needs to clear prior to transplant since post transplant patients are started on immune suppressive medications.
Hope she recovers quickly.

In most cases, yes. Otherwise, the infection could spread to the newly transplanted organ.
Too bad, but infections contraindicate kidney transplant. Blood and urine have to be uninflected.
Cheers.
What it means is that your daughter's infection has to clear so the new kidney does not get seeded with infection. Once she clears, she should be okay as soon as there is a donor available.

Best of luck to her,
