Common side effects include pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Less common side effects can include allergic reactions. Make sure to discuss any concerns with your doctor before the procedure.

Botox is typically a very safe procedure. However, like most other procedures it can have some side effects. The most common side effect is headaches. These are usually temporary. You can also have allergic reaction to Botox. This is, however, very rare. Most other side effects are related to the Botox spreading from the area of injection to other locations. This can lead to a droopy eyelid or fullness of the upper eyelids.
Literally millions of people have been treated with Botox over the years with high levels of satisfaction and minimal complications. The only rare troublesome complication that can arise is drooping of your upper eyelid after the procedure, but this is temporary and rare. Call anytime to make an appointment for a virtual consultation to further discuss this if you desire. Good luck.
The intended effects of Botox include a weakening of the treated facial muscles which leads to decreased visibility of expression lines. Other side effects of Botox may include a slight "heaviness" feeling and/or headache for the first few days as the Botox is setting in, redness at the injection site for up to 30 minutes after injection, and slight soreness at the injection site.
Side effects are very rare and, if any, they subside with no long-term consequences. There was a major completion of botox with paralysis that occurred when a doctor mixed his own with none-medical botox and with the wrong concentration by error and was to save money. Botox cosmetic rapidly responded that it was not their product injected. The physician lost his license to practice. I have had only an occasional headache occur when injected close to cutaneous nerves and is very rare an is very short term. Also. migration of a small amount of botox can migrate blow the brow resulting in a paradise or weakness if the upper eyelid and usually if it happens is on one side. This is very rare and lasts for usually only a few days. This is also very rare.
Thank you for your question. I would encourage you to read the pamphlet that accompanies the botox vial for a full list of possible side effects. That pamphlet can be found on the Botox or Allergan website. Please read it thoroughly before you proceed with your treatment. It is important that you are comfortable with the use of any medication put into your body.
Paralysis of treated muscles
Botox injections are relatively safe but, each case is unique. Some minor side effects are possible. such as pain, swelling, or bruising, and muscle weakness near the injection site. If you are considering using Botox cosmetics, you must only use under a doctor's care. Please schedule an appointment with a Board Certified Professional to discuss your particular need, treatment, and potential side effects.
The most common that I have seen is my patient is a temporary headache that may last a couple of hours and no one has had to take any medication for it. I have not encounter any other side effects in my thousands of patients but there is a long list of side effects in the manufacturer's guidelines. The problems is not so much the side effects but complications of the injection that is done by someone who is not qualified or does not know the anatomy as the Board certified plastic surgeons do.
The side effects from Botox are usually minimal but a droopy lid or brow may result. These negative effects will wear off in several months.
