What can I put on my gums to stop hurting after dentures?

I am a 65 year old male. I recently got dentures and my gums hurt. What can I put on my gums to stop hurting after dentures?

Firstly, you gums should not hurt with your new dentures. You probably have some pressure spots (the denture rubbing on your gums) and you need to have them adjusted. Post insertion adjustments are very commonly needed after the delivery of new dentures. It is not uncommon to need several adjustments before your dentures feel fine. Meanwhile you can use a very thin layer of vasoline inside your denture until you can get to your dentist for an adjustment.
Most likely the dentures have to be adjusted.it may be included as part of treatment especially if they were recently done. A numbing agent can be used very temporarily, however the tissue will feel better once irritating factor removed
There is no magic cream or medicaments to relieve the source of your gum pain. I strongly suggest that you visit your dental professional to look for the source of your pain, and resolve it. Sounds like a denture adjustment is in order. There are those people that never are able to comfortably wear dentures. You need the dentist to try to resolve your pain issue. Good luck.
Ask your dentist to do a soft liner/reline. It’s temporary, i.e., lasts a few weeks, but will cushion the gum tissue as you heal. I never charged for this with a new denture the patient got from me.
Good luck!
Your dentures should not hurt your gums after delivery. You need to go back to your dentist so that he/she can adjust your denture so that it does not hurt. In the mean time, you can use a denture liner like Polydent to cushion the denture until you are able to go in and get the sore spots adjusted.
Go back to the dentist who fabricated them for you to make adjustments.

If your gums are hurting there is a good chance you need a denture adjustment. You should visit your dentist and show them where it is hurting you.
There is a product called Coracaine that can temporarily numb sore spots caused by an ill fitting denture. I strongly suggest you get your denture adjusted so it does not hurt or cause sore spots. Otherwise, these constant irritations can turn into bad things.

Return to your dentist for a tissue treatment liner.
You need to call your dentist and go when you have sore spot/hurting gums. Dentures may need some adjustment.
