Some times lack of sleep can cause this. Other conditions should also be examined. If it continues you should see a physician.
It is not clear what causes eye twitching but some medications and stressors can make them worse
Most eyelid spasms go away without treatment in a few days or weeks. If they don't go away, you can try to eliminate or decrease potential causes. The most common causes of eyelid twitching are stress, fatigue, and caffeine. If they do not improve or are associated with other symptoms, see your doctor.
There are many causes to eye twitching. Some are tics, others can be due to medications, and yet others are idiopathic. It would be worthwhile getting a full evaluation by a neurologist.
