“What causes scalp ringworm?”
My son is 12 year old and was diagnosed with scalp ringworm. What exactly is this and how did he get it?

This is a fungus called tinea capitus that gets in the hair root and can cause dry scaly scalp and hair loss. It can come from another child sharing combs not sterilizing hair clippers. Pets can also carry the fungus.
