What does a gum abscess look like?

I am a 23 year old male. I want to know what does a gum abscess look like?

Like a boil or pea-sized, yellow fluid-filled sac on the gum near the root of the tooth. But many times, you may not even see it.
It can look like a small pimple or swelling on the gums, that is sometimes painful.
