Do you mean one med treat both conditions? Paxil and Remeron can have both effects
Although all antidepressants are good for anxiety, unfortunately, most of the antidepressants we use these days do not work best or insomnia, with one exception of Mirtazapine, that need to be taken at night. However, depending on individual patient's profile and their response to medications, some other medications can be used as an adjunct for augmentation of anti-anxiety effects of antidepressants and sleeplessness.

I would avoid the SSRI's and Effexor. Remeron is one medication used for depression complicated by anxiety. There has been a great effort to explain depression as a "brain disease" caused by chemical imbalance. In fact, however, there has been no scientific proof for such a theory. In every case I have evaluated, depression and anxiety have been due to life circumstances. For this reason, I recommend that one find a good therapist over taking medication.
Mirtazapine can be helpful for insomnia.
