Neuropathologist Questions Headaches

What tests can find the cause of my headaches?

I have a headache almost constantly, and my doctors aren't able to pinpoint the reason why it happens. What test would you recommend to diagnose the cause?

There’s no test for that. You need a complete work up under supervision of your physician
MRI Brain
MRI scan is the best test for chronic headaches. Still, in people who suffer from migraine headaches the most common finding is a normal MRI scan which is reassuring to many patients
The first and most straightforward test would be a sinus series or a CT scan of the sinuses to determine whether or not sinus disease is responsible for the headaches. If this proves to be negative, then another test would be an MRI of the brain. This will prove helpful to determine if there are other causes such is a mass within the brain, or if the headaches are migraines not regular headaches. Whether or not the headache is due to migraine would initially be evaluated from the clinical history. Hope this helps.
You should see a headache specialist. A CT scan and/ or MRI can determine if you have a mass or intracranial hemorrhage (bleeding) which can cause headaches. If those find no cause, then You may never find the cause. You should try Botox if you haven’t already.
