Orthopedist Questions Dislocated knee

I think I dislocated my knee, and it is hurting a lot. What should I do?

I have a slight bulge on my knee, which makes me think I dislocated it, and it is also hurting. I haven't fallen or had an accident recently, so I don’t understand the reason for this pain in my knee. Please, what should I do?

Have it evaluated by an orthopedist.
I assume you can bear weight and bend the knee. Try ice, advil and rest. If no better after 72 hrs, see your Orthopaedic doctor.

Hope it helps!

Any concern for a joint dislocation is an emergency and you should go to an emergency department to have this evaluated.
You will first need to determine whether or not you dislocated your knee or your knee cap. The treatment is different. The best thing to do is to visit your Primary Care Physician or your Orthopaedic Doctor and have an MRI performed.
If the pain is more than mild and transient you should see your doctor.
You should see an ortho doc for an X-ray. Based upon findings, the next step can be recommended.
You should be seen as soon as possible by a medical practitioner to evaluate your knee.
You must visit a physician.
It is unlikely that you dislocated your knee. You probably have some swelling due to a minor injury or early arthritis. If the swelling does not clear up after a week or so, you should consult your family doctor.
