Dentist Questions Teeth Grinding

Why am I grinding my teeth?

I'm 39 years old and my wife told me that I tend to grind my teeth when I sleep. What are some reasons for teeth grinding? Should I see a doctor?

Stress, sleep apnea, and malocclusion are all reasons people grind. You should see a dentist for a night guard evaluation so that you don't damage your teeth.
Teeth grinding can be caused by many factors, including stress, excessive caffeine in your diet and excessive gum chewing. A visit to your dentist may help to protect your teeth from excessive wear.
