Study Evaluates 3D Mammography for Breast Cancer Screening

This research is long overdue

Every year, over 50 million screening mammograms are performed in the United States alone. However, the director of NCI Community Oncology Research Program points out that there has not been a large-scale randomized trial investigating efficacy for a long time. Dr. McCaskill Stevens says that's why their organization is supporting this trial. If there is better technology out there to improve screening of women for breast cancer, we should find out more about it and its potential use for the future.
