Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Getting Involved

Shop smart! Buy products that donate to research

Many conscious companies contribute to fundraising efforts throughout the year, but especially during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For example, Panera Bread annually bakes up its pink ribbon bagels, for which a portion of the proceeds are donated to breast cancer research foundations.

Some communities get creative with their fundraising, such as the postage stamps in Jamestown, North Dakota. The Jamestown Post Office has been selling their breast cancer research stamps every October since 1998, and has raised more than $86 million for the National Institutes of Health and the Medical Research Program at the Department of Defense.

Be on the lookout for these types of products in your community and at your favorite stores and restaurants throughout the month of October.
