In Historic First, Woman Is Cured of Stage 4 Breast Cancer

"Lifetime risk" is the average chance of a woman being diagnosed with breast cancer over her lifetime

This term is a bit more self-explanatory. On average, a woman living in the United States has an overall 12% chance, or 1 in 8, of being diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, not considering any specific risk factors.

The location with the highest incidence of breast cancer is not the US, but Belgium, with approximately 112 per 100,000 women being diagnosed. Just under Belgium is Denmark, with 105 per 100,000 diagnosed. The US falls at number 8 on this list, right before Ireland.
