When registering for gifts, you can include a section in the registry for people to donate to breast cancer awareness instead (or in addition) to their gift purchase. Many organizations will let you set up an account and create a button or link for family and friends to visit and donate. This button will come in handy for people who can’t afford the more expensive items on your registry, but all the other items are bought up. Registries are a great way to give back because people are already visiting your registry with the intent to purchase an item for your wedding; showing them that you are supporting such an important cause will give them a better incentive to donate.
Many people register for things they will rarely, if ever, use – like fine china and an all-inclusive smoothie maker. Instead of housing these items in your home, moving them around and never really using them, have family members and friends donate the money they were going to spend on those appliances and items, and push the donate button instead.
