Dr. McNulty is a top 1% or higher, double-board certified, award-winning orthopedic surgeon and spine specialist, treating children and adults at McNulty Spine & LVNI Center for Spine and Brain Surgery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
With over 30 years of experience in treating and reconstructing a wide range of spinal disorders and deformities, he often begins with conservative treatments before implementing surgical options. He is well-versed in spinal injections to start the recovery process in an efficient, structure-focused fashion. He provides traditional spine surgery as well as minimally invasive and robotic surgical options. He also has experience in workers’ compensation and medical-legal medicine.
Academically, Dr. McNulty graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami with a triple major in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and chemistry. He went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Miami Medical School, graduating first in his class.
For his residency in orthopedic surgery, he went to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, an affiliate of the Texas Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He also completed rigorous fellowship training in spinal surgery at the Scoliosis and Spine Center, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Towson, Maryland.
Following his medical training, Dr. McNulty followed a family tradition with military service. He is a decorated military veteran serving in the United States Navy during the Bosnian War. He served active duty with the United States Navy from 1994-1997 in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. In addition to deploying during the Bosnian War, he was also the Head of the Division of Spine Surgery and was involved full-time with orthopedic residency training.
An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Moreover, he is board-certified in spine surgery by the American Board of Spine Surgery, because this particular board recognizes both neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons.
Achieving fellowship status, Dr. McNulty is a Fellow of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (FABOS), and Fellow of the American Board of Spine Surgery (FABSS).
