Physicians are here to help the patients. We recommend how to proceed with the life style after the heart attack, after stent for CAD, & after bypass surgery. Patients have to do their homework, such as stop smoking, exercising regularly, eat properly & follow instructions as advised by their physicians. If patients continue to smoke, physicians can't help these patients. It is in their hands how to avoid heart attack, cancer & COPD from smoking.
Some patients like to drink on daily basis when they are on blood thinner. This really affect the lab report badly.Physicians can't help these patients unless they stop or cut back the alcohol intake.
I appreciate my patients when I know that they follow my instructions. They feel very happy when they leave my office. I never ask my patients to be strict with diet & exercise. Occasionally, they can deviate from the routine and have a good time with family.
