Poland offered to supply Ukraine 12-23 first-generation MiG jets by way of Germany and Romania if the USA approved and replaced them with more modern US jets. The USA didn't approve because of the risk of escalation of the tension with Putin's Russia into nuclear war. Gary Kasparov, former world chess champion, and I believe the last to defeat or tie an older version of IBM's Big Blue, and currently, an anti-Putin political activist believes that there is no bargaining with a dangerous, grandiose tyrant.
The opportunity to supply Ukraine was lost when Trump tried to extort anti-Biden information about Biden's son who was under contract to the Ukrainians for non-existent company work. Volodimir Zelensky would not comply and Trump (The man who would be emperor) withheld the aid.
