Cystic Fibrosis: Summertime Tips

Be mindful of air quality

Keep on the lookout for air quality and contents. Avoid areas that are known to have high levels of pollution as the air can contain chemical irritants that may exasperate breathing issues. On days where the weather channel or local news report calls for severed bad hair days, reconsider outdoor plans. You can also contact the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to search their database of information on the air quality of popular travel destinations. If it is impossible for you to avoid certain allergens, you might consider talking to your doctor about the possibility of prescribing you an antihistamine that is safe to take with any other medications. A face mask may also be recommended.
