How to Tell if Someone Has Lupus

Pulmonary Issues

Another possible symptom of lupus is an inflamed pulmonary system. The lungs start to swell, and this might extend to blood vessels in the lung. Sometimes the diaphragm gets affected. Breathing in will cause chest pain. The condition is called pleuritic chest pain. With time, breathing issues will shrink lung size. This condition is characterized by shortness of breath and chest pain. Sometimes it is called shrinking lung syndrome or vanishing. Lupus Foundation of America found that CT scan images showed diaphragmatic muscles moving up showing that these muscles are very weak.
